Antony brings a wealth of experience from over a decade of professional work, including in elected office as a Member of Parliament, where he significantly focused on international trade, and his successful tenure in financial services. He now leverages this expertise to assist businesses in navigating the complexities of public and regulatory policy, craft messages for their external audiences, and manage the challenges posed by tariffs and potential trade wars.

 

Antony excels in communications and relationship building, offering strategic support to organisations in developing effective campaign messages and lobbying efforts. His skills are particularly valuable in crisis communications, ensuring that investors, the public, and other stakeholders are well-informed and reassured during turbulent times.

 

His global outreach, having visited numerous key trading partners of the UK, has established him as a connector with decision-makers in critical markets. Antony is eager to collaborate with businesses aiming to expand or penetrate new markets, helping them forge connections and expand their customer base with a strategic, global perspective.

Career Highlights

  • Built a successful career in the City of London, advising some of the largest UK financial services firms on regulatory policy and managing high-stakes relationships with regulators including the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority, and European Banking Authority. 

  • Elected as the first Conservative MP for the constituency of Burnley in over 100 years, driving forward economic regeneration through strong collaboration between the public and private sectors, and securing the biggest expansion of higher education in Burnley's history. 

  • Served as a member of the influential House of Commons Business & Trade Committee where he focused on free trade agreements and helping UK businesses export their goods and services. 

  • Joined a number of delegations overseas, building strong relationships, including to: 

    • The United States of America​ (Washington DC, New York, Boston, Alabama)

    • Israel

    • South Korea

    • Ukraine

  • Parliamentary experience includes membership of:​

    • ​Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union, which looked at the UK's trade agreement with the EU following its exit from the bloc. ​
    • Public Accounts Committee, which has constitutional responsibility for oversight of all UK government expenditure. 

    • Sub-Committee on National Security and Investments, which oversaw the National Security and Investments Act, including t

    • All Party Parliamentary Group for Aerospace.

    • All Party Parliamentary Group for Crypto and Digital Assets. 

  • Served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs; as well as Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party. ​
